This is also the sixth consecutive year that Schneider Electric has received this accolade from Ethisphere, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.
Through its World’s Most Ethical Company® list, the Ethisphere Institute publicly honours companies that have demonstrated ethical leadership in their industries, using ethical conduct as a profit driver and a competitive differentiator. In 2016, 131 companies were designated the World’s Most Ethical Companies, representing 53 industries across 21 countries.
“We are proud of this recognition for the sixth consecutive year. We go beyond the letter of the law and demonstrate the highest ethical standards in line with our corporate values. By disclosing information that proves our business walks the talk, we guarantee a transparent context to our customers while benefiting the planet and society." shares Jean-Pascal Tricoire Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric.Principles of Responsibility
At Schneider Electric, ethics and governance are considered key drivers of growth and of competitiveness. They are managed through Principles of Responsibility, a set of guidelines designed to provide the Group’s employees with a framework for responsible behaviour.
This document was formulated in line with the company’s principles of governance, the 10 principles of the Global Compact, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and international labor standards. Our Principles of Responsibility has been translated into 30 languages and sent to all Group employees.
The “Responsibility & Ethics Dynamics” program also helps Schneider Electric employees to manage any ethical issues that may arise. The program is regularly communicated and audited internally, and since the beginning of 2015, it is serving as an indicator of ethical performance in the Planet & Society Barometer, the company’s sustainability scorecard. At the end of 2015, this indicator was well above target with 88 percent of Schneider Electric’s entities having passed the assessment. The objective is to reach 100 percent by the end of 2017.
